| The e-Pesticide Manual CD provides
speedy access to all the data in the book. In addition, the CD includes
a much larger set of product names and is updated annually online with
further new data and software enhancements.
Version 4, released in November 2006, reflects the printed version of the fourteenth edition of the book. This information has been updated in version 4.1, released in October 2007. Also in this update are an additional 17 entries, now totalling 898 Main Entries.
References to Toxicological and Environmental reviews have been further expanded, to include EU Review Reports, EPA Fact Sheets, WHO/FAO Health and Safety Guides, and Pesticide Data Sheets
and International Chemical Safety Cards. Analytical references have been extended to include methods in Pesticide Analytical Manual. Company names have been further updated to reflect the changes in the industry.
Added Value:
In the CD there is a larger set of product names, more than 7,000 current plus over 2,000 discontinued names, compared to 3,000 listed in the book. There are also more company entries, more than 700 compared to 500 in the book.
Smiles codes are now included. These codes are useful for chemists who will now be able to enter chemically meaningful structures directly into most structure-handling software.
There are more fields of data for many superseded entries including toxicology, analysis and environmental fate which means that the information is almost as complete as that for the
main entries.
What it offers:
The enhanced CD software enables complex searches which would prove impossible
with the book. The powerful search facilities enable users to:
- Tailor-make and save their own searches
- Customise information to download or print
- Record and search their own notes and comments
- Make direct web links to manufacturers and organisations
- Export chemical structure graphics and Smiles codes for use
in presentations
- Hyperlink quickly between entries and background information
Network users can export search results into a format suitable
for use in spreadsheets or other software. Lists of names resulting
from a search, which may be useful for further searches on other
databases, can also be exported.
